Continue:

After the game over screen, press the A Button and hold Down to consume no continues.

 

Invulnerability and Level Skip:

During gameplay, hold Up + A on Controller 1 and Up on Controller 2 then press B on Controller 1. Hold A and press Select to enable invulnerability, or hold B and press Select to skip to the next level.
